Part II for Georgia Governor: Stacey Abrams vs. Brian Kemp

Voting rights activist Stacey Abrams announced via Twitter that she once again will run for governor of Georgia.

The former Georgia House representative ran against current Gov. Brian Kemp in 2018, losing by a razor-thin margin of 1.4%. The tightly contested gubernatorial race thrust her into the national spotlight.

Democrats hope that Georgia’s demographic and political shifts, along with Georgia’s Democratic representation in the Senate, will be enough to push Abrams over the top.
