One of my real life friends left this comment in response to one of my posts
“This is depressing. I think the people in stl are defeated. They either dont know what to do about this crime, or are so far gone that when a solution is dropped into their hands, they refute and dismiss it. They have looked at the bottom of this stuff for so long, they dont see a way out”
Yes, posts highlighting the reality of our situation is depressing… and people do feel defeated after years of fighting only to find themselves in the same, if not worse situation. This is true, not only for people in St. Louis, but throughout the country.
Truth hurts. Being woke and unable to exist in blissful ignorance doesn’t feel warm and fuzzy. BLM promised you a rose garden. James Baldwin said, “To be black and conscious in America is to be in a constant state of rage.”
Here’s the thing fam… we gotta get out of our emotions, stop being guided by feelings and start looking at what is being exposed. The veil is being lifted right before our eyes and instead of processing what we’re seeing in order of gain understanding HOW we’ve been led astray and sabotaged and WHY we amassed so many losses over the course of years, we reject truth because we don’t like the messenger.
Truth about internal and external forces at play, about enemies within, how our own are used against us and the role of the black misleadership class should be welcomed, not shunned. Knowing should make you feel better, not worse… better because now we know. We are no longer misinformed. Now we know exactly who/what we’re dealing with. Now can stop being misled, stop falling for the okie doke and most important, stop being bamboozled into working against our own interests. KNOWING these truths is how we win.
The curtain being lifted should be welcomed, even celebrated because the opposition can longer defeat us using manipulation, deception and lies.
When we know better, we do better. Don’t be sad or defeated, be angry and channel that anger into strategic, tactical action needed to get us through these uncertain times and bring about the change we’ve been fighting for.
The veil being lifted allows us to see shit for what it really is. Acting upon this knowledge is how we win.
