I heard a good sermon this morning and it moved me to share this post with my people involved with educating “OUR” people and true allies. You will be tested this year. You have been trained well. Take the time to look at your core self and assess things. A young person is depending on you to prepare them against the enemies from within and without. The year I graduated high school a bigoted counselor told me I had the skills to be a truck driver…no shade on that…its honorable work…but he did not know me or my family background. The recent resignations of various racists from their posts in media corporation or government represent compromised “victories,” if victories at all. While we may say our activism has caused racist individuals to lose jobs salaries and status, must concede that such resignations do not make up for the tremendous damage caused by those who wreaked incalculable destruction. Most will resurface with book deals , movie options or in another job or career. There is no statute of limitations on racists who’ve polluted society and the environment or taken our lives literally financially culturally or psychologically. Those who are so inclined might consider placing such people’s names on a “Black offenders list” and work to make sure they don’t regenerat...
